Documents checklist for Russia

Mandatory Requirements:
Passport: So the original Passport with validity of minimum six months and minimum two blank pages for visa stamp. Attach all your old passports (if any)
Russian Federation Visa Form:
a) So iIf applying from Kolkata: One visa application form should fill and sign from the applicant
b) So if applying from Delhi, Mumbai & Chennai: Visa application form has to be filled online by the applicant.
Please Note: Applicant has to mentioned his/her residential address as per mentioned on the passport.
Photo Dimension:
Two recent passport size photographs with matt or semi matt finish, 60%-80% face coverage, white background and without border (Size: 35 mm x 45 mm)
Please note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
Personal Cover Letter:
So Covering-Letter from applicant on business letter head mentioning name, designation, passport number, purpose and duration of visit in brief. The letter should be duly signed by authorised signatory with company stamp and addressed to – The Visa Officer, Embassy of Russian Federation, New Delhi.
Please Note: Covering-Letter on Letterhead if applicant is Self Employed or on plain paper if Employed.
a) So if applying from Mumbai: The letter should be address to: Consulate General of Russian Federation, Mumbai.
b) So if applying from Kolkata: The letter should be address to: Consulate General of Russian Federation, Kolkata.
c) If applying from Chennai: The letter should be addressed to: Consulate General of Russian Federation, Chennai.

In accordance with the order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 413 on a Migration Card, Foreign Nationals entering the Russian Federation, must receive and fill in a migration card, present it to a border control officer who puts a mark on the migration card about the entry into the Russian Federation if the information in the card matches the information in the passport and the visa. Migration form is given free of cost to foreign citizens by border control officers or representatives of organisation providing transport services to foreign citizens.
